At INI-Novation, we are committed to equipping creative professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the evolving landscape of AI regulations and compliance. As part of our work on the Navigating AI Regulations: A Practical Guide project, we conducted a series of interviews and group discussions to ensure our training program truly reflects the needs of the creative and cultural industries (CCI).
Engaging Industry Experts: A Collaborative Approach
To design a practical and relevant training framework, we engaged with key professionals from diverse backgrounds within the creative industries. Through one-on-one interviews and an interactive focus group session, we explored the biggest challenges, concerns, and opportunities that AI presents in creative workflows.
How We Gathered Insights
To ensure our training program meets the needs of creative professionals, we conducted several facilitated sessions. Our diverse group of participants included business leaders, communication managers, business developers, and a student assistant, bringing a well-rounded perspective to the discussion.
Between January 27 and February 14, 2025, we held bilateral interviews with three industry experts, allowing us to gain valuable insights into AI-related challenges, compliance requirements, and workflow optimization. These one-on-one conversations provided a detailed understanding of the specific concerns professionals face when integrating AI into their creative processes.
In addition to the interviews, we organized a 90-minute group discussion on February 18, 2025, bringing together four participants with diverse backgrounds in the creative industries. This interactive session encouraged an open exchange of perspectives on AI implementation, ethical considerations, and the complexities of regulatory compliance.
By combining individual expertise with collaborative discussions, we gained a well-rounded view of the key issues that need to be addressed in our training program.
Key Takeaways: What Creative Professionals Need from AI Training

- Regulatory Challenges – Many professionals find AI laws complex and need clear, actionable guidance.
- Training Priorities – A strong demand exists for modular, case-study-driven training on compliance, legal frameworks, and AI integration best practices.
What’s Next? Building a Tailored AI Training Program
With these insights from Germany, along with those gathered from Bulgaria, we are now developing a structured training curriculum that will empower creative professionals to confidently navigate AI regulations. Our next steps include:
- Expert-led training courses focusing on AI policies and compliance strategies.
- Hands-on exercises that help professionals integrate AI into their creative processes responsibly.
- Interactive workshops featuring real-world case studies.
The valuable input from our stakeholders in Germany and Bulgaria will lay the foundation for an industry-specific training program designed to boost AI literacy, enhance digital readiness, and ensure compliance with EU regulations.
